Birkenshaw Sports Hall 

Birkenshaw Sports Hall hosts a multi-purpose sports hall which accommodates for three badminton courts, basketball, indoor football, netball and a host of other indoor sports. As well as the indoor facilities, a full-size grass football pitch is available for use adjacent to the centre.

Birkenshaw Development Project

The Birkenshaw Development Project has been established for three years with a focus of developing the local area around and including Birkenshaw Sports Barn. The group has undertaken activities to clear the greenspace, plan native wild flowers and trees to create a wild area with path networks for the community to enjoy. The group have worked closely with partners to achieve funding to install a new purpose build play area and hope to have a new Multi Use Games Area installed by the end of 2018.  

Our partnership with NLC is strengthening to improve the Sports Barn and increase the use with activities and groups for all age ranges. It is our aim to improve the site and facilities in this future and have a community hub that everyone will be proud to use.
